German news source Sport 1 claims that Bayern Munich will announce the signing of Martin Odegaard on Wednesday.
The 15 year old has been on a whistle-stop tour of Europe’s biggest clubs in recent weeks, visiting the training grounds of the likes of Arsenal, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United. Odegaard spent a number of days with Pep Guardiola’s side and it now appears that he will join the German giants.
Odergaard turns 16 on Wednesday which means he will finally be allowed to sign his first professional terms with a club, and the Norweigan wonderkid is expected to crown his birthday off by signing for Bayern.
The German club are no doubt happy with the acquisition, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently described Odegaard as the “talent of the century” and he will join the Bavarian club’s already impressive youth ranks.
Odegaard peaked the interest of Europe’s biggest clubs after becoming the youngster ever player to appear in a European Championship qualifier for Norway against Bulgaria at the age of just 15.
The talented youngster’s protracted transfer saga looks finally to have come to rest.
