Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is considering a January move for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette as he seeks to strengthen his misfiring attack according to the Daily Star.

The 23 year old French international racked up 15 goals in 34 Ligue 1 starts last term but has since hit a stunning run of form that has led to the rangy forward grabbing 15 goals in 18 starts in the current campaign.

Indeed Lacazette is the top scorer in Ligue 1 this term and apparently available for a very affordable fee of around £15m, a fee that one imagines Rodgers’ side can fork out.

Rodgers has seen his current crop of forwards steadfastly fail to deliver with summer signings Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli managing just one Premier League goal between them whilst Fabio Borini continues to play a minimal role in first team affairs.

The loss of Daniel Sturridge for much of the season has proven a disaster and a move for January reinforcements may be keen to Liverpool’s hopes of securing a top four finish.

One imagines Lacazette would be open to a move to Merseyside though given his side are well and truly in the running for Ligue 1 honours he may elect to hold out until next summer.
