Brazilian defender eager to make amends for last season’s Champions League defeat.

Paris Saint Germain defender Marquinhos has warned Chelsea that his side will not make the same mistakes that saw the French giants crash out to the Blues in the Champions League last season as they prepare to meet again in the last 16 of the current competition, the Daily Express reports.

PSG were drawn against the Blues on Monday morning after finishing second in their group behind Barcelona last week.

Last season the French club took a 3-1 lead into the second leg at Stamford Bridge but went down 2-0 to go out on away goals.

And Marquinhos has sent a warning to Jose Mourinho’s men claiming that they are smarter this time around and will not be repeating the mistakes they made last term.

“At this level, there are only great teams,” the Brazilian told PSG TV.

“We will train and work hard to prepare for the double header.

“Chelsea have already won the Champions League (in 2012) and are top of their league.

“They will give everything to earn progression (to the quarter finals).

“Last year’s elimination was painful. We will build on that to avoid repeating the same mistakes.”
