Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United meet at White Hart Lane this evening, with a place in the Capital One Cup semi-finals up for grabs.

It is arguably both sides’ biggest game of the season so far.

With that in mind, here are the XI players we expect Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino to select to start.

GK: Hugo Lloris

Michel Vorm has started in both of Tottenham’s Capital One Cup games this season – against Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove Albion. However, Newcastle are a very dangerous team, so Pochettino will need his main man between the sticks.

RB: Kyle Naughton

Eric Dier is injured, while Kyle Walker should be given a rest after playing two games in four days.

LB: Danny Rose

Rose began the season as Tottenham’s first-choice left-back, playing in all of their Premier League games, with Ben Davies filling in during cup and European games. However, those roles have swapped over recently.
