The agent of Liverpool target Jaime Baez has revealed that several Premier League clubs have enquired about the young Uruguayan – who has been dubbed the ‘new Luis Suarez’.
The 19 year old’s tenacious, skilful and direct style have seen him compared with the former FC Barcelona star and led to a host of clubs from England, Spain and Italy enquire about his availability.
Baez currently still plays in Uruguay with Club Atlético Juventud de Las Piedras, but his agent told the IBTimes that the youngster has been attracting interest from all around Europe.
“Jaime is playing at top level since the last two years. Being 19 years old and playing for two years in first division, scoring goals and of course playing in the national team, has been reason for many clubs to show interest in him,” said Pablo Boselli.
“We prefer to be very careful about names of clubs, but I can say that in our last trip to Europe [last month], most of the important teams of England, Spain and Italy knew all about Jaime and asked us about his movements and personal info.”
Boselli refused to be drawn on whether the Reds were one of those clubs, but did say Baez is dreams of playing at a top European club someday in the future.
