He is reportedly still looking for a move away however, with the North London rivals set to go head to head for his signature once again.

Former Saints boss Pochettino is hopeful that he will be reunited with the midfield star, but fears being gazumped by Wenger.

The South coast club have insisted that the 25-year-old is not for sale in January, but a large enough bid may force their hand.

There are fears at White Hart Lane that they will be unable to compete with the Gunners, who have an excellent relationship with Southampton.
