The relegation strugglers could do with adding some quality to their side this season, and Townsend has previously impressed in a loan spell at Loftus Road.

The England international has not managed to establish himself as a regular in the Spurs side this season, with new manager Mauricio Pochettino only handing him one start as he seemingly does not feature in the Argentine’s plans.

This could see QPR pounce for him this winter, with Redknapp looking to exploit the loan market to add some flair and creativity to his side, with Townsend looking like a player who could boost Rangers’ hopes of Premier League survival.

The 23-year-old may also benefit from some playing time, and it looks increasingly likely that this move could be on the cards in the near future.
