Moussa Sissoko has been tipped to leave Newcastle in January, with Arsenal a possible destination. The North London club look to be in a fantastic position to land his signature too, with the 25-year-old recently declaring his love for Arsene Wenger’s side, reports Le 10 Sport.

The powerful midfielder has been one of Newcastle’s best players this season, and his performances this season have attracted the attentions of a number of top clubs.

His affinity for the Gunners may stand Arsene Wenger in good stead if he wishes to bring the French international to the Emirates.

“When I was young, Arsenal was my favorite [sic] club. There was my idol Patrick Vieira. I’ve always loved this club. I still love it,” he said.

Arsenal have long been lacking a dominant defensive midfielder, although with Sissoko’s tendencies to get forward so much he may not be the ideal candidate for the position.

If Arsene Wenger does decide that his compatriot is the player to fill the void at the Emirates, then he could face competition from the likes of Chelsea for his signature. Sissoko’s clear love for Arsenal should give the Gunners a distinct advantage however.
