The adaptable attacker, who can play out wide or up front, moved to the Etihad Stadium from Swansea City in August 2012 but has struggled to retain a foothold in the club’s starting eleven since day one.

The 25 year old has made just two Premier League starts in two and a half years at Man City and the sum total of his top tier action this term came in the form of a last-minute sub run-out against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Loftus Road boss Harry Redknapp is keen to strengthen his squad in January and a move for Sinclair would not be too costly and could be an intelligent way to boost his side’s chances of avoiding the drop and would offer the Barth born attacker the chance to re-ignite his career.
