Simon Mignolet’s endured an awful season, and the man who’s replaced him, Brad Jones, is quite simply not up to scratch.

Mattia Perin, Asmir Begovic and Timo Horn are just few of the players linked, and the Daily Mail reckons that Stoke City’s young goalkeeper Jack Butland is also being lined up.

Butland is 21-years-old, but can’t get in the Stoke side because of Begovic ahead of him in the pecking order.

As a result, he’s spent some time on loan at Derby this term in the Championship, but is now back on the bench at the Potters.

Butland’s talented, but is hardly the experienced keeper Liverpool need right now to boost their chances of a second half of the season revival.

The Reds could still try to sign the international on loan, which could be a good deal for all parties, however.
