The agent of Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has informed Liverpool that his client is available…

Liverpool have been told to place a bid for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, with the player’s agent insisting that the Blues’ back up stopper would fit right in at either Anfield or Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

Reports in the Daily Mirror carry quotes from Viktor Kolar, who revealed that a January move is unlikely, but claimed that Cech is set to leave next summer, and has already been offered to Real Madrid.

He said: “It’s unlikely Petr will leave Chelsea in the January transfer window. The club and coach want to keep him to help win the title. I think Arsenal should have made an offer to him. I think Petr would be considering it.

“Liverpool need to strengthen their position in goal and they know Petr will be available in the summer. We’ve been in contact with Real Madrid, but they don’t need a keeper just now.”

Cech, 32, whose contract runs to 2016, was Chelsea’s first choice for a decade until his place was taken by Thibaut Courtois. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he is yet to receive an offer for his number two, but Kolar has urged Liverpool  to make a big-money bid.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has dropped keeper Simon Mignolet after some unconvincing displays, and is unlikely to stick with current first choice Brad Jones, who has conceded six goals in his last three games.
