Eden Hazard Set To Miss Chelsea’s Boxing Day Clash Against West Ham

The youngster looks set to miss Chelsea’s Boxing Day fixture against West Ham…

Reports from the Press Association all but confirm that Eden Hazard will not be fit to start against West Ham on Friday.

The winger was given rough treatment in Chelsea’s Monday night fixture at Stoke, and it finally took its toll late on when he was forced to limp off after a tackle from Jonathan Walters.

Chelsea are likely to recall Oscar, who was dropped for the game against Stoke, although André Schurrle will also be hoping for a chance to start having fallen out of favour earlier in the season.

Hazard initially looked to be in serious pain, and spent some time on the ground after Irishman Walters rake his studs down the Belgian’s heel.

Chelsea fans were covering their eyes, and in the end were relieved to see Hazard hobble off without the need for a stretcher.

There has been no official word from Chelsea on the severity of the injury, but the consensus seems to be that the 23-year-old will miss the West Ham game, and possibly also Chelsea’s clash with Southampton two days later.

The Blues will certainly be hoping to have the live-wire attacker fit again by New Years Day, when they face Tottenham.
