For another £25m, City are also reportedly eyeing up a January bid for Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic, who has been in fine form for Diego Simeone’s side since joining them from Bayern Munich this summer. The powerful Croatian forward would certainly be a useful addition for Pellegrini’s side due to injuries to the likes of Sergio Aguero, but it may be a hard task trying to persuade Atletico to sell so soon after they signed him.
