The 24-year-old has been a big disappointment at Anfield since his £16m move from AC Milan in the summer, failing to register a single goal in the Premier League so far.

Balotelli now seems like falling out of favour in Brendan Rodgers’ starting lineup after this goal drought, and is also keen himself on leaving the club to put an end to this nightmare spell with the Merseyside giants.

Having made a bright start to his career with Inter, Balotelli now seems intent on returning to the San Siro to play under his old manager Roberto Mancini, and has supposedly make contact with the club to arrange a move.

The Italian international would likely move on an initial loan deal with a view to joining Inter permanently, and it now remains to be seen if the two clubs can iron out a deal this winter.
