The German has been unable to find his way in to the starting line up at the Gunners, and has been linked to several clubs since the summer transfer window. This is despite him being a fan favourite at the Emirates.

The 29-year-old had an extended break after the World Cup, and has failed to start a game for the club so far this season. Inter Milan are supposed to be one of the teams looking to sign the forward, and could make a move in the January transfer window.

With Mesut Ozil coming back to full fitness, it will only get harder for Podolski to get time on the pitch over the next few months. The competition to get in to the side is a reason why Wenger may consider selling him.

“There is nothing concrete on Podolski. At the moment nobody goes out. But there is a lot of competition upfront,” he explained after the Gunners’ 2-1 victory over West Ham on Sunday.
