The 29-year-old has been with the Ligue 1 side for his entire career so far, but may be able to move for just £6m this winter, in what looks like a potential bargain for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Arsenal are in need of additions in defence, and Perrin is an experienced performer who can also fill in at right-back or defensive midfield, making him a highly useful purchase if he does arrive at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal’s injuries have left them short in a number of different positions this season, and Perrin would give Wenger more options in his defence and midfield as he looks to improve his side’s fortunes for the second half of the campaign.

Perrin is not one of the biggest names to be linked with the Gunners this January, but may be a more realistic target for the club.
