Last week, Mourinho made some uncomplimentary comments about his old team, saying that he’s much happier in London and at Chelsea, because ‘he’s surrounded by good people’.

Now reports in the Spanish capital are claiming that those comments have not gone down well with the players in the squad, who want him to look forward rather than dwell on the past.

The quote one unnamed Madrid player as saying: “Hopefully we can meet Mourinho in the Champions League. If we reach the final, hopefully we can face Chelsea; that will be the moment to talk.

“He should just leave us in peace; that’s all in the past and we’ve moved on doing our thing.”

The report also claims that Mourinho feels resentment towards the club for the success they have gone on to enjoy since he left in the summer of 2013, and they are desperate to get one over on him by knocking the Blues out of the Champions League.
