The 53 year old appears set to take over at Selhurst Park with the Magpies confirming that Pardew will not be taking Newcastle United’s training session on Tuesday.

Pardew has been in charge of the St James’ Park side since 2010 and helped the club to a fifth place finish in 2011/12 and Newcastle United currently sit in a fairly solid ninth spot at the present time.

Newcastle United have released an official statement on Palace’s Pardew approach a portion of which states;

“Crystal Palace have offered compensation at a level whereby Alan has now been permitted to speak to them.”

Pardew represented Palace as a player for four years and is favourite to take over as manager imminently.
