An extraordinary 44% of people have voted Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez as their Premier League player of the season so far in a poll conducted on social media by Sky Sports.

Sanchez beat off competition from Cesc Fabregas, David De Gea and Sergio Aguero among others, despite the Gunners sitting in a disappointing fifth place in the Premier League table at the half-way stage.
But the Chilean has been simply sensational for Arsenal so far this season, scoring 15 goals in all competitions and inspiring accusations of Arsene Wenger’s side being a one man team.
The 26-year-old joined the club from Barcelona this summer, after three seasons with the Catalans saw him in and out of the team, and denied his preferred central position due to the presence of Lionel Messi.
