Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he only expects Liverpool to make a limited number of moves for new players in the January transfer window, despite a difficult start to the season which currently has them in eighth place in the Premier League.

Rodgers, who is quoted by the Metro, has warned fans not to expect an influx of new players, but despite being liked with a host of names, the Northern Irishman would prefer to work with what he’s got.

“My first look is always within – we’ve seen how we’ve adapted the team and structure of team in order to make that work,” he said.

“There won’t be much activity in January – we’ve brought in a lot of players in the summer who beginning to adapt to life and a way of working at Liverpool.

“January won’t be busy my job is to coach and manage the players who are here, and make the most of their talent.”
