Eden’s younger brother moved to Stamford Bridge during the same summer as the former, but was loaned out to Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem for the following two seasons.

His form there caught the attention of a number of European clubs, and this past August he linked up with Bundesliga outfit Monchengladbach on another season long loan.

However, reports in Germany are now claiming that he is set to turn that loan move into a permanent switch when the transfer window opens on Thursday.

Gladbach’s Max Erbel told the German tabloid: “I’ve had a nice talk with Chelsea. Thorgan is a good kid and he does very well. We’re going to see what is possible.”

Hazard has been in sparkling form for the German side this season, bagging four goals and seven assists from 21 appearances, even though he has only started nine of those games.
