An initial £5m offer from the Gunners has been rejected and now the price-tag has been set by Zagreb should the North London side be serious about landing Brozovic.

They aren’t the only Premier League side showing interest though, with Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur also keen on the Croatia international.

Arsene Wenger has made it publicly known that one of his main targets for the January transfer window is to sign a new central midfielder and Brozovic could well fit the bill.

The 22-year-old can operate anywhere through the middle and may be the defensively minded player that Wenger is so desperately after.

Captain Mikel Arteta is not the holding player that is required to compliment the more offensively minded Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere, whilst Mathieu Flamini doesn’t perhaps have the talent needed.

Wenger is likely to be typically frugal over the next month however and with defence also an issue for the North Londoners the Frenchman may choose to spend his money on a new centre-back instead.
