The midfielder thinks that their attractive style is down to the work of manager Jose Mourinho. He thinks that the Portuguese has learned form his time in La Liga, where he was at one time the assistant manager at the Nou Camp.

Although the system is different, the Spaniard says that the philosophy is the same. This is because they aim to take the initiative in most of the matches that they play. The Blues have had a great first half of the season, and they are currently three points clear at the top of the Premier League. They are also still in the League Cup and the Champions League.

“Mourinho adapts to the players he has,” Fabregas told reporters. “What makes him so great as a coach is that he adapts to any situation and his teams can play in many different ways. It’s a very intelligent way of managing.

The London based team play against Tottenham on New Year’s day, and they will need to win if they want to guarantee they will stay ahead of Manchester City at the top of the league.
