According to the Daily Mirror, the German international fears the Gunners are blocking his possible move to Serie A side Inter Milan this winter, a move he wants to make to ensure he is playing regular first-team football.

Podolski has found himself on the bench for much of this season after the signings of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck, and it had looked increasingly likely that he would leave the Emirates Stadium.

However, it seems Arsenal may be stalling on letting him go as they look to keep their backup options in case of more injuries, with a number of first-teamers missing large chunks of this campaign so far.

The 29-year-old may still have a role in this side, but he has now put himself out of selection for the Southampton game after supposedly becoming furious at the club for their handling of this situation.
