Sky claim Podolski is travelling to Milan tonight in order to finalise the details of loan until the end of the season with Roberto Mancini’s side.

The news comes just a day since Arsene Wenger revealed that the Italian club had increased their offer to the Gunners for the World Cup winner following Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Southampton.

Roberto Mancini’s side had seen an earlier bid rejected and been publicly derided by Wenger who said Inter were well short in their estimations for the German.

However, it now seems the clubs have agreed a suitable loan fee and the striker who joined from Köln in 2012 will get his desired move away from the Emirates to gain valued game time.

The striker has cut a frustrated figure on the Arsenal bench and has continually complained in the press about his lack of starts.

The striker has become increasingly shut out by Arsene Wenger over the past 18 months and has yet to play from the beginning of a match in the Premier League this season.

If the move goes through it surely signals the end of Podolski’s time in North London after just two and a half seasons.
