Arsene Wenger is looking to bring a central defender to the Emirates this winter, with this season’s injuries highlighting the need for more numbers at the back.

Perrin has been linked with a switch to North London in January, and Saint-Etienne boss Christophe Galtier has recently revealed that the move is a definite possibility.

“Loic (Perrin) is a special case that I will look after personally. I’m not saying the door is open but if a surprising offer is made we would have to listen to Loic and his wishes,” Galtier said.

“He is a player who has spent all of his career at the club. Arsenal are a big club in a big league.”

The 29-year-old is probably not the big name defender that Arsenal fans will be hoping for, but with Wenger’s previous record in the January transfer window they may not be feeling too picky.

The Gunners went into the new campaign with just six senior defenders, and countless injuries has seen the French manager forced to deploy an ever changing back four.
