Lukas Podolski set for loan move to Inter Milan.

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski could complete his loan move to Serie A giants Inter Milan as soon as this evening, report the Daily Star, with the German international due to arrive in Italy soon to put the finishing touches to a short term deal taking him to Roberto Mancini’s struggling Serie A giants.

Podolski’s loan move will net the Gunners £500,000 and give Podolski the level of first team football that he desires, having been sat on the bench at the Emirates Stadium for much of the 2014/15 season so far, a situation that seems to have left the former Cologne star exasperated by his situation.

The German is likely to be Inter’s biggest name signing of the January transfer window as Roberto Mancini looks to bring in the players capable of dragging his side back into the upper echelons of Serie A, with Inter stuck in the bottom half of the table heading into the winter break after Mancini failed to pick up the club’s form after replacing Walter Mazzarri.

Podolski is expected to arrive in Italy this evening to conclude negotiations and, should everything go to the plan, the first Arsenal deal of the transfer window could well go through tonight.
