The 42 year old has apparently already bid farewell to his Blues team-mates and is a player Nigel Peason wants to draft in after losing first choice keeper Kasper Schmeichel who has suffered a broken metatarsal bone.

Schwarzer moved to Stamford Bridge in July 2013 but has made just four Premier League appearances and having drafted Thibaut Courtois in following his three season loan spell at Atletico Madrid it’s likely Jose Mourinho felt he could afford to allow the former Fulham and Middlesbrough man to leave as he has Petr Cech as a fairly superb back-up option to the young Belgian.

Pearson’s side sit bottom of the Premier League having conceded 33 goals in 20 fixtures, only QPR having let in more.
