The 26 year old Ivory Coast international has been strongly linked with a Liberty Stadium exit with Premier League sides Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham all said to be keen.

Now Bernabeu president Florentino Perez is said to be looking to land the powerful forward, who has a £25m price-tag, and could perhaps be seen as an ideal back-up to first choice starter Karim Benzema.

Real Madrid loaned in Man United’s Javier Hernandez but he has barely had a look-in and interest in Bony may be a tacit admission that the Mexican isn’t likely to complete a permanent move to the Spanish capital.

Bony has proven a massive hit since moving from Vitesse Arnhem to south Wales in a club record £12m deal, netting 34 goals in 56 starts.
