Arsenal Flop Shockingly In Line For New Deal

Costa Rican forward has made just two Arsenal starts all season.

His Arsenal career may best be summed up by the picture of a bench but Costa Rican forward Joel Campbell is inconceivably in line for a new deal at the club.

According to a report in Spanish news source Dario AS, David Moyes’ new side Real Sociedad are keen to bring the 22 year old to La Liga but believe they will be rebuffed by the Gunners if they attempt to buy him on a permanent basis.

Diaro AS then go on to say that the club are attempting to tie the striker down to a new deal at the Emirates Stadium and then, with Campbell signed up, would be willing to let him leave on loan in January with Sociedad the likeliest destination.

It’s a strange move from the North Londoners, if true, as Campbell has hardly featured for Arsene Wenger’s side at all this season only making eight appearances in total.

Arsenal have already let Lukas Podolski leave on loan to Inter Milan and by all accounts are looking for a suitable temporary destination for Yaya Sanogo to allow him game time.

Allowing Campbell to leave on loan as well would surely be a strange move and leave Wenger incredibly short up front.

The Costa Rica international’s current deal is thought to expire in 2016.
