The 42 year old Aussie has fallen behind Thibaut Courtois and Petr Cech in the Blues pecking order and is on his way to the King Power Stadium where he may stand a better shot at playing time.

Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho was full of praise for the former Middlesbrough and Fulham man, stating’

“We have lost a big man, we’ve lost Schwarzer,”

“He is a fantastic goalkeeper for us but this season the situation has changed. He has become the third [choice goalkeeper] which is a very difficult situation for a goalkeeper of his dimension.

“We will miss a fantastic guy and we wish him all the best at Leicester.”

Schwarzer joined Chelsea 18 months ago and has made a total of 12 appearances for the club having spent long spells at the Riverside and Craven Cottage.
