The attacking duo have been punished for returning late after the mid season break, with the pair forced to train away from the first team as well as an undisclosed fine being handed out.

Their actions have only served to fuel speculation that they could be on their way out of the Parisian club this January, with Liverpool and Arsenal thought to be chasing their signatures.

PSG coach Laurent Blanc branded their behaviour “unacceptable”, and claims that they will be dropped for at least the next two games.

This could all be a ploy to force through transfers this winter, with both players thought to be unhappy with their current situations.

Cavani is reportedly fed up of playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and wants to secure a switch to North London side Arsenal. While Lavezzi is being chased by Liverpool, as well as a host of other top European clubs.
