The Argentine international has been tipped to move this January, with speculation over a transfer fuelled when he was absent from Paris Saint-Germain’s mid season training camp.

Reports in Spain suggest that he is far from an £8m move to Liverpool however, with a number of possibilities more likely.

One report states that the Ligue 1 side have no intention of selling this January, and claims that Lavezzi will remain at he club at least until the end of the season.

A second source says that La Liga side Valencia are in pole position to sign the former Napoli man however, and that a deal between the two clubs is already close.

If Rodgers is to have any chance of making this deal happen, then he will need to do something quickly. The Reds have struggled badly for goals this season, and the acquisition of Lavezzi could go a long way to remedying that.
