Winger Aaron Lennon, full-back Kyle Naughton, Brazilian midfielder Paulinho, battler Etienne Capoue and Vlad Chiriches will all be made available for prospective suitors in January.

Pochettino is also ready to consider significant offers for £26m signing Roberto Soldado, who is being pursued by AC Milan, and fellow forward Emmanuel Adebayor.

Neither attacker has impressed this term and with that in mind has set his sights on Burnley youngster Danny Ings and his former Southampton charge Jay Rodriguez, though the England man is still out with a long term injury since the tail end of last term.

Tottenham have hit a good run of form, winning four of their last five Premier League fixtures, and Pochettino may feel that addition of an effective striker could aid the White Hart Lane side’s push for a top four finish.
