The players have both been struggling with injuries in recent weeks, and the Frenchman has expressed hope that they will both be able to make appearances against the Potters. However, Mikel Arteta has been ruled out of the match with a calf problem.

Ramsey hasn’t played since the Gunners’ 4-1 win over Galatasaray in their final Champions League group match, while Flamini has missed the last two matches with a knock. They will be welcomed back to what has been an injury ravaged midfield in recent weeks.

“Mathieu Flamini could be back, Aaron Ramsey has a little chance. Nobody else. Mikel Arteta will be longer,” Wenger told reporters.

He added, “I think Flamini should be available for selection and maybe Ramsey has a little chance to be back.”

The North London club will be looking to avenge their 3-2 loss to Mark Hughes’ side when the pair played at the Britannia last month. They will be coming off a win over Hull City in their last match, which took them in to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
