Atletico Madrid Desperate to Sell £32m Forward: Arsenal Boss Interested

Though Diego Simeone only signed Croatian Mario Mandzukic over the summer the Atletico Madrid boss is now apparently desperate to sell the former Bayern Munich man and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is apparently keen on the striker according to the Daily Star.

The 28 year old has netted six goals in 14 La Liga fixtures thus far this term and by all accounts the loan return of Fernando Torres has left Simeone in the belief he can afford to sell Mandzukic.

The powerful forward has impressed in Champions League action, racking up five goals in six fixtures, and Atletico would demand £32m for a player they paid £18m for little more than six months ago.

Man City and Liverpool are also said to be interested in Mandzukic and although Wenger is said to be focusing mainly on defensive captures the Arsenal manager is said to be considering a move for the Atletico Madrid man.

Though Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck have joined the north London club Wenger may see Mandzukic as a better central striking option than Olivier Giroud.
