Ligue 1 side looking to sign striker Yaya Sanogo on loan.

Bordeaux have told Arsenal that they want a response by Wednesday on the Ligue 1 side’s offer to take young striker Yaya Sanogo on loan for the rest of the 2014/15 season, report the Mirror, but the Gunners would prefer the Frenchman to stay in the Premier League so he can continue becoming acclimatised to English top flight football.

Sanogo has made a handful of appearances for the Arsenal first team and has largely been derided for his awkward physique and raw attributes – but Arsene Wenger appears to see potential in the former Auxerre youngster and there have certainly been flashes of promise from the 21 year-old.

Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers are believed to be the Premier League frontrunners for the signature of Sanogo, with both believing that he can bring some much needed presence to their frontlines until the end of the season, but Bordeaux are flying high in the French top flight and want to tie up a deal for Sanogo as soon as possible.

They are reported to have asked Arsenal for a response on their offer to take Sanogo on a temporary deal by Wednesday at the latest – presumably with the intention of moving onto other targets if they do not hear the right answer.
