“Lukas Podolski has completed a move to Inter Milan on loan for the remainder of the 2014/15 season,” it said on the club’s website.

“Everyone at Arsenal would like to wish Lukas the best for his time in Serie A.”

The Gunners have not revealed however, whether there is the option for Inter to make Podolski’s move to the San Siro permanent in the summer should they choose to do so.

It has been widely reported that this would be added into the deal for the 2014 World Cup winner and that it is highly likely the 29-year-old has played his last game for the North London club.

Either way Arsene Wenger will be without Podolski for the remainder of the campaign and therefore the need to make new signings in the January transfer window has become more prevalent.

It’s believed that a new centre-back and defensive midfielder are the priorities for Wenger over the next month.

Podolski arrived at the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2012 from Cologne and has since played 82 times for the club in all competitions and scored 31 goals.
