The 19-year-old has completed a permanent move to Danish side FC Midtjylland, the club he has been on loan at since the start of the 2014/15 season.

Olsson showed plenty of promise at Arsenal, and at one point looked capable of breaking into the first team. With a host of talented midfielders ahead of him in the pecking order however, the Swedish international has had to look elsewhere for regular football.

With a League Cup win against West Bromwich Albion last season his sole senior appearance for the Gunners, he has looked likely to be let go for a while now.

Arsenal have struggled with injuries to a number of key midfielders this season, with Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, and Mathieu Flamini all sidelined at the same time. Arsene Wenger may be letting a number of fringe players go this January, with a view to bringing in some more experienced players to make up the numbers.
