Liverpool target Lavezzi could be on his way to Anfield after falling out of favour with Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc. Yet it seems not only has the Argentinian fallen out of favour with the club – a recent poll found 76.9% of fans no longer want the striker at the club.

Both Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani received punishment from the French club after returning four days late after the Christmas break. The pair were fined and left to watch from the sidelines for the following two matches, reported ESPN, and Lavezzi could now be on his way out of the Parc des Princes.

The 29 year old is yet to impress this season in Ligue 1 – scoring just two goals in 670 minutes and no goals to his name in the Champions League, but Liverpool remain interested.

The Argentina international is likely to cost around the slight fee of £8m – and Liverpool boss needs to act soon if he wants to land the forward with Spanish side Valencia also keen, reports the Express.

With Daniel Sturridge still out injured and Mario Balotelli yet to score in the league after his big summer move to Anfield, Rodgers’ side are in desperate need of a goalscorer.

The Reds have also been linked with strikers Karim Benzema and Xherdan Shaqiri in the transfer window – and Liverpool fans will be hoping manager Brendan Rodgers secures a top signing sooner rather than later.
