The Athens based club will offer to take the Anfield misfit on loan for the rest of the current campaign, an offer Brendan Rodgers will surely turn down.

Whilst the 24 year old has been a flop since moving to Merseyside over the summer but there seems little to be gained by offering the £16m signing to another club on a temporary deal, not when Rodgers has precious few effective attacking options of note.

Balotelli has failed to score in 11 Premier League appearances this term and hasn’t started a game since November 1st but unless Rodgers were to sign a striker, or manage to speed up his capture of Belgian Divock Origi, it seems highly unlikely Liverpool would consider offers for the former AC Milan man.

Origi was signed by Liverpool over the summer and then immediately loaned back to Lille for the current campaign and any more to break that deal would no doubt cost the Premier League side an additional fee.
