Manchester United are ready to launch a £30m bid to sign Borussia Dortmund defender and Arsenal target Mats Hummels, according to the Daily Express.

The Red Devils are known to be in the market for a world class centre-back signing, with Louis van Gaal unhappy with some of his current options at the back, who have been unconvincing at times this season.
Despite a recent improvement in their defensive displays, United have relied on youngsters such as Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair all too often this term and could do with more experienced and proven players in that part of the pitch.
Hummels is widely regarded as one of the best in the world in that department, and has been linked with bigger clubs on a number of occasions recently, with Arsenal and Barcelona also among his admirers.
Dortmund don’t want to sell the German international, but that has not put United off as they continue to chase this long-term target.
