Bonevacia has played an integral role in the Phoenix’s excellent first half to the season and the club are keen to hold onto the former Ajax man.

Wellington currently sit in second place on the A-League table, four points off ladder-leaders Perth Glory.

Phoenix general manager David Dome confirmed the club were wanting to extend the 23-year-old’s contract beyond the initial two year period.

“We’re definitely looking at Roly now and what we can do to keep him, in fact we’re looking at the whole gamut, in terms of can we naturalise Roly,” he told Yahoo Sports NZ.
