The Italian international has struggled for form since his £16m summer move to Anfield from AC Milan, despite previously being regarded as a top talent.

With no Premier League goals to his name yet, Balotelli could now be shipped out quickly by the club, with plenty of speculation that clubs are ready to snap him up this January.

However, despite a tempting offer from Olympiakos, who were ready to pay the 24-year-old’s wages in full for the rest of the season, Balotelli has rejected this opportunity to quit Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers may be keen to offload the former Manchester City man before making other moves in the transfer market, with the club having spent heavily on a number of largely unsuccessful signings during the summer.
