The Spanish giants only signed Bale from Tottenham Hotspur in a world-record £85m deal last season, but may be ready to cash in on him after strong interest from the Red Devils.

United also raided Real for the signing of Angel Di Maria this summer, with the Argentine costing a club-record £59.7m, and Louis van Gaal now hopes to add Bale to his list of big-money and big-name signings since moving to Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old was known to be a target for United before he moved to the Bernabeu, and it may now be that he will end up in a red shirt next season as Real are open to letting him go.

If Bale did move for £150m, he would break his own record as the most expensive football transfer of all time.
