Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the Dutchman who only joined Celtic in 2013 for just £2.6 million as Arsene Wenger looks for solid and proven defensive reinforcements.

The 23 year old has been a permanent feature in the side’s first XI for successive managers and there’s now a reported £10m target on his head with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur also said to have him on their shortlists.

Current Celtic boss Ronny Deila has said Van Dijk will be with the Scottish Premier League side until at least the end of the season.

And Van Dijk himself has now confirmed interest from several clubs but says he will not be leaving his current side at the moment.

“There is interest from several clubs, but Celtic have taken the position that they do not want to sell me. Of course I am open for the next step in my career, but I am well aware that I already play at a great club,” said van Dijk to Dutch media outlet Voetbal International.

“As it stands now, I’ll stay at Celtic, but everyone knows that just suddenly anything can change,” he added.
