Despite plenty of hype surrounding Suso when he first moved to Anfield as a precocious teenager from Spain, the player has rarely broken through into the first team at the club and didn’t massively impress during a loan spell back in La Liga with perennial relegation strugglers Almeria last season.

He has been on the fringes since returning to Anfield this season, due to a combination of Brendan Rodgers preferring other options and a couple of nasty injuries, and it now appears that Suso has agreed a pre-contract deal to join Serie A giants AC Milan.
Despite a fine win at Torino this weekend, Pippo Inzaghi’s Milan side have struggled this season and they face a battle to beat the likes of Sampdoria and Napoli to third place in the Italian top flight and qualification for next season’s Champions League – the stated aim for the club this season after a couple of tough years.
