Serie A champions interested in signing forward Stevan Jovetic.

Serie A champions Juventus are interested in taking Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic back to Italian football after his failure to find his feet in the Premier League, report the Express, but Manuel Pellegrini’s side are looking to delay the deal until the end of the January transfer window as they look to sort out their striking situation.

City are currently in negotiations with Premier League rivals Swansea City in a bid to thrash out a deal that allows them to bring Wilfried Bony to the Etihad Stadium, but with the Ivorian international out of action for a month whilst he plays at the African Cup of Nations, it would appear that City want to keep Jovetic for now.

The Montenegrin international has rarely been first choice for Manuel Pellegrini since he joined the club from AS Roma in the summer 2013 transfer window, with a succession of injuries curtailing Jovetic’s progress in English football.

When fit he is a tricky and dangerous customer capable of scoring goals of real quality, however, which is why Juventus are looking to bring him back to Serie A as they look to attract the quality to make the difference in what looks to be a thrilling title race between the Old Lady and Jovetic’s former club AS Roma.
