24 year old attacker Schurrle’s future at Stamford Bridge seems in danger as the former Bayer Leverkusen man has struggled to retain a spot on Jose Mourinho’s first team set-up following a successful World Cup campaign.

Schurrle has made just five Premier League starts this season, and just one since October, though has pledged his commitment to force his way into the Chelsea starting eleven, stating;

“In a phase with less playing time, transfer rumours are always coming up.

“Of course I want to be on the pitch as much as possible and score goals for my club.

“In a team like Chelsea with many top players you have to prove yourself again and again.”

Mourinho believes Fiorentina winger Cuadrado is the man to fight for the right-sided attacking slot.

26 year old South American Cuadrado was a huge success last term, bagging 15 goals in all competitions, and then had a solid World Cup showing and has perhaps been a little off the boil this term but this hasn’t lessened Mourinho’s interest.

The Blues boss has usually opted to use Willian on the right-wing this term though arguably Cuadrado may prove a better option.
