The English forward was in fantastic form before suffering his unfortunate cruciate knee ligament injury last April, and was even set to make the trip to Brazil for the World Cup. It is this form that has drawn interest from some of the top clubs in the Premier League, despite the fact that he is yet to return from a lengthy layoff.

The 25-year-old is expected to make his return to action in the coming weeks, but it seems there is a possibility that it won’t be for the Saints.

Tottenham have already seen one bid turned down, while Manchester City are keen to bolster their squad with home-grown players. Liverpool are also thought to be monitoring the situation, with Rodriguez entering the final 18 months of his current deal at Southampton.
